When it comes to illegal immigration, New Mexico has long taken a softer approach than its neighbor, Arizona. While Arizona this year passed the nation’s strictest law against the practice, for example, New Mexico remains one of just three states — along with Utah and Washington — that still provide driver’s licenses to undocumented residents.

This commercial speaks to Lieutenant Governor Diane Denish’s dishonest and false attacks against Martinez to cover up for her weak stance on border security, including the Richardson/Denish Administration’s record of giving driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants and her refusal to revoke them if elected. Martinez will hold those who violate the law to account, while Denish represents more of the same.
