I am sure many of you have had this discussion with your “Left” family and friends….. Is Obama a Socialist? Or is Obama a Communist? Or is Obama a little bit of both……

At least with my family and friends that stray too far to the Left, usually, the first thing that happens in a never ending diarrhea of the mouth of what they think the “true” meaning of “Socialism” or what is a “true” Communist……

This is much like my discussions with my fellow baseball fanatics of whither American League Baseball is “true” baseball because they use the designated hitter rule…… which IMHO it is not…….. *grin*

The bottom line is this……. the USA has NOT had “true” Capitalism in a long, long, long time…… if it is not true Capitalism, then what is it?

……. and baseball is NOT “true” baseball with the designated hitter…… *grin*

   Bob…… you got the point…… it is pointless to discuss the absolute laser point of some of these “terms”….. the point is we are are far closer to socialism & communism than capitalism by anyones “true” definition…… and I feel the video does a wonderful job of explaining this……. sorry I don’t have the time to engage in verbal masturbation with you….. and we are so far from Anarchy, another good word to debate……….

   Great video. I must agree that most conversation centered around finding “true” definitions of various -isms does seem only to amount to “verbal masturbation” as you so graphically put it. But I have a slightly different reason for thinking that.

   A host of greater thinkers than most folks can hope to be (myself included) have wrangled with those terms for generations, and while they’ve never put the laser pointer on any of them, they’ve certainly honed the definitions down to a finer point than I ever expect to acheive over cocktails with hostile ideologues who think enlightenment means holding the correct opinions. To that end, for all practical purposes I think ample definitions exist for the various -isms. Arguing semantics of a “true” definition is a crab-walk to avoid real conversation which threatens to force critical thinking and possibly admitting that your opponent has a point.
